Winter activities on the Arlberg
St. Anton am Arlberg is globally renowned as a Freeride Mecca. The vast terrain around Rendl is a hotspot for freeriders with endless powderruns and impressive panoramas. The stanton park offers optimal freestyle enjoyment for park fans and quick access to two ski lifts. With 200 kilometers of marked powder runs and safety measures, the Arlberg is a paradise for freeriders, especially at Rendl with natural pipes, corners, spines, and deep snow descents all the way to the valley.
In St. Anton am Arlberg, there is a network of over 40 kilometers of cross-country ski trails, which have been awarded the cross-country skiing quality seal of the Tyrol region. It offers high snow reliability, good signage, and parking facilities for day guests. With leisurely and sporty options, it provides variety for cross-country skiers.
The four-kilometre-long natural toboggan run at Gampen, right in the heart of the winter sports area, is a great attraction. You can easily get to the starting point at 1,850 metres by gondola from Nasserein. The track is 500 metres long and ends just 100 metres from our doorstep. It's suitable for beginners and families, and it's secured with side snow barriers. On Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7 pm to 9:30 pm, there's a tobogganing evening at Gampen.
If you fancy a winter hike, you can experience crunching snow and mountain air on 80 kilometres of trails. Some of the most popular routes lead to Verwalltal or the Stanzertal circular trail. There are also shorter routes that lead to Gasthof Almfrieden or the Egger Weiher pond in Strengen. The new panoramic trail on the Galzig is also great for fitness and endurance training.
